Tokyo Olympics, 82 players have been decided!
The Qualification Tournament (QT) was held in Paris on June 11-13.
This is the final match of the long-term selection process that started in July 2018. It was a fierce and extremely high-level selection event in which 500 people from 98 countries who missed the Olympic standing and host country quota selection competed for 3 quotas in each class.
Based on this result, the following 18 players were added according to the prescribed selection method, and a total of 82 players were decided.

In 2016, when the karate competition was officially decided at the IOC session, some of the top players in the world also challenged the final QT, and witnessed a tearful scene in the world of competition. It was a place where I realized the rigor again. I hope that 82 people will showcase the world’s best karate on the stage of their dreams and embody the WKF philosophy of aiming for “perfect harmony between tradition and innovation.”
