“Sakumoto Karate Academy”, the representative of Ryuei-ryu and Tsuguo Sakumoto, who has raised multiple world champions and is leading the modern competition, has started an international online seminar series.
A total of 5 seminars are planned, and the first seminar on Sunday,September 27th was held for about an hour and a half under the three themes of “Ryuei-ryu Basics,” “Anan,” and “AnanDai.”
This time, there were participants not only from Japan but also from Asia, Oceania and Europe. The practice content was explained in two languages, English and Japanese, and the cameras were installed in two directions.
Under the guidance of Professor Sakumoto, the practice was practiced by world champions Ryo Kiyuna, Arata Kinjo, and Takuya Uemura, making it visually easy to understand. After doing the basics of Ryuei-ryu to make use of it in every aspect of the form, I moved on to the explanation and practice of the forms of “Anan” and “AnanDai”.
At first, explain the precautions for each behavior with slow movement. Sometimes a player stood in front of the camera and pointed out small notes. When the explanation of all the behaviors is over, it will be a through performance with speed and power. Although the participants were through the screen, they were inspired by the powerful command of Sakumoto and the powerful performances of the world champions, and they were doing their best to get sweaty.
