Additional event(s) will be selected in August 2016
Vice president of IOC Mr. John Coates attended a press conference on February 5th, 2015 in Tokyo to announce new information regarding Tokyo 2020.
As widely reported already, additional event(s) for Tokyo 2020 will be selected in August 2016, at the IOC congress in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Inside Japan, TOCOG will propose additional event(s) to IOC by September 2015.
According to Mr. Coates, IOC will evaluate competition venue status, business plan, international popularity, participation of young generation, gender equality, etc. in choosing additional event(s).
