On July 4, 2011, at Nippon Budōkan Kenshū Center located in Katsuura city, Chiba, a trial session of 9 Budō for 11-12 year-old students has been held by Nippon Budōkan organization.
Karatedō, Judō, Kendō, Aikidō, Kyudō, Jūkendō, Sumō, Shorinji Kempō, and Naginata instructors showed demonstrations in front of about 280 students, and then they made 9 groups to try each Budō.
Sensei T. Okabayashi, Kyōshi 7th Dan and Sensei Y. Takai, Kyōshi 7th Dan from JKF taught Karatedō basis to about 30 students, and K. Inoshita, an assistant professor of Kokusai Budō university assisted them.
Almost all students tried each Budō for the first time. They looked enjoying punching or kicking with laud voice.
From April 2012, at junior high school in Japan, Budō classes are going to be necessary as a part of P.E. classes. Hope more students start Karatedō and love it so much.
